This badge system was developed with the aim to support the learning of trainee youth workers, and to help guide them through realising their leadership potential with the young people they work with as well as identifying a standard for youth leadership. It also hopes to offer a bridge between theory and practice and encourages participants to learn how to transfer and apply the knowledge, skills and behaviours gained through participating and being engaged in the badge system and any training you may be receiving.
Although this badge system can also be used as stand-alone badge system we strongly recommend participation in training and seeking other possibilities to gain the reflective personal development opportunities the badge criterias are looking for.
Effective Youth Leadership Badges have been developed as a part of a year long international training course called ‘Pathways to Youth Work’ and a project initially supported and realised through Erasmus+
